Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a Construction Controller for a growing Metro Atlanta construction firm. The role leads the accounting function, drives accurate financial reporting, and supports operational efficiency and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

The Controller partners with project managers and senior leadership on financial strategy, audits, and payroll reporting, with hybrid or in-office work options near the airport.

Qualifications

• Strong background in construction accounting.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of GAAP and construction industry compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close, GL, and financial reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership on financial strategy.
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and insurance requirements.
• Supervise accounting staff and ensure accurate payroll and benefits reporting.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close, general ledger, and financial reporting


• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis


• Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing


• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures


• Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership on financial strategy


• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and insurance requirements


• Supervise accounting staff and ensure accurate payroll and benefits reporting

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) and related ERP tools


• CPA preferred but not required
