Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is assisting a strong construction firm in the Atlanta area by recruiting a Construction Controller. The role leads the accounting function, drives accurate financial reporting, supports strategic planning, and ensures policy compliance across departments.

Hybrid or in-office work near South Atlanta is available. Expect responsibilities including month-end close, budgeting, job costing, AIA billing, audits, and payroll reporting, with CPA preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Strong background in construction accounting.
• Advanced proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) and related ERP tools.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of GAAP and construction industry compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing.
• Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership on financial strategy.
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and insurance requirements.
• Supervise accounting staff and ensure accurate payroll and benefits reporting.

Position Overview
