LHH has an immediate Controller opening with an established and growing organization seeking an experienced accounting leader to strengthen financial reporting processes, mentor accounting professionals, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is ideal for a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior accounting professional who enjoys leading teams, developing talent, and improving the overall effectiveness of the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and enhance accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, increased efficiency, and operational scalability.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development support to accounting team members.
- Lead financial reporting activities and ensure timely, accurate, and reliable financial information.
- Partner with leadership to establish best practices and strengthen the accounting organization.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting processes.
- Support technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with accounting policies and standards.
- Develop reporting tools, procedures, and metrics to improve visibility and decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve financial operations and organizational effectiveness.
- Participate in strategic initiatives, system implementations, and process transformation projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA highly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.
- Proven success leading, mentoring, and developing accounting teams.
- Experience driving process improvements and organizational change.
