Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations for our manufacturing business. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing cash flow, and driving process improvements across the close cycle. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills and thrives in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Month-End Close Management: Oversee and execute the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • General Ledger Oversight: Maintain integrity of the general ledger; review journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Cost Accounting: Manage and analyze standard cost accounting processes, including variance analysis and inventory valuation.
  • Cash Management: Monitor daily cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP; deliver reports to senior leadership.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as primary contact for external auditors; manage audit requests and ensure readiness.
  • Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff; foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in close processes, reporting, and cost tracking.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles. Manufacturing industry experience required.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting, cash management, and general ledger processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
