About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Factory Finance Controller to oversee financial management, cost control and accounting operations for a manufacturing facility in the United States.
This role will partner closely with the factory leadership team and corporate finance function to strengthen financial controls, improve cost visibility, support operational decision-making and ensure compliance with U.S. accounting and tax requirements.
The ideal candidate will have solid manufacturing finance and factory cost control experience, ideally combined with a Big Four accounting background and strong knowledge of the U.S. business and regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead finance and accounting activities for the U.S. manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Establish and strengthen factory financial and cost control processes, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and variance management.
- Monitor manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, overhead, inventory and other operating expenses.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, procurement and other functions to identify cost drivers and improve operational efficiency.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, budgets, forecasts and management reports.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to factory management and corporate finance.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, local accounting requirements and applicable financial control policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors and other professional service providers as required.
- Support U.S. tax-related matters and ensure appropriate financial and tax compliance.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and risk management processes within the factory.
- Support the implementation and improvement of financial systems, processes and reporting mechanisms.
- Work closely with headquarters and overseas finance teams to ensure consistent financial policies, reporting and controls.
- Handle other finance-related projects and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Economics or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of relevant finance/accounting experience, with substantial experience in a manufacturing or factory environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in factory finance, manufacturing cost control and operational finance.
- Prior experience with a Big Four accounting firm is highly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of U.S. accounting standards, financial reporting, taxation and local regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with the U.S. business environment and experience supporting or managing finance operations in the U.S.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both business and finance teams.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with both languages used as working languages.
- Strong ownership, integrity, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Must be willing to build a long-term career and establish a strong presence in the U.S.
Preferred
- Experience supporting the setup, ramp-up or expansion of a U.S. manufacturing facility.
- Experience in electronics, semiconductor, optical communications, advanced manufacturing or other high-tech manufacturing industries.
- CPA or other relevant professional accounting qualification.
- Experience working with China-headquartered or multinational manufacturing companies.
