Job summary

CRC Group is seeking a senior finance professional to act as the primary finance owner for a designated business segment in New York. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and business partnering with program leaders to influence strategic decisions.

The role requires at least five years of finance experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

• Lead ad hoc financial analysis and support leaders with decision-making.

Job description

• Independently serve as the primary finance owner and point of contact for the assigned business segment, unit, or vertical.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the program’s financial structure, revenue drivers, expense trends, profitability levers, and performance objectives.
• Prepare, interpret, and present complex monthly financial results, including revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, trends, risks, opportunities, and other key performance measures.
• Perform complex variance analysis against budget, forecast, prior periods, and business objectives; research significant discrepancies, assess root causes, and communicate actionable insights.
• Maintain forecasts, planning and operational metrics focusing on defined KPI’s.
• Act as a financial advisor to Program Leaders by reviewing financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, influencing decisions, and recommending actions to improve business outcomes.
• Support daily and month-end accounting activities, including bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial packages, variance explanations, executive-ready insights, and other management reporting to support leader decision-making.
• Support financial close activities and validate that transactions are recorded in the correct accounts, periods, business units, and programs.
• Participate in finance-related system testing, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Maintain process documentation, reconciliation support, and control evidence; provide backup coverage and cross-training as needed.
• Lead and support ad hoc financial analysis, special projects, and business case development requested by Program Leaders or finance leadership.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work and educational experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis experience, including exposure to business partnering or leader-facing financial support.
• Ability to create, manage, analyze, and interpret complex data sets and translate findings into clear reporting and business recommendations.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders or operational stakeholders to evaluate financial performance, identify trends, challenge assumptions, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Strong working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently with limited direction, exercise sound judgment, and provide timely, accurate financial insights in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED / NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced degree (Master’s, MBA, Finance/Accounting concentration)
• Prior experience in insurance or financial services
• Proficiency using Power BI, database management, and SQL Server Reporting Services

The annual base salary for this position is $140000 - $160000.
