Job summary

Mississippi Power is seeking a Financial Budget Analyst to support all aspects of the budget process, including planning, development, analysis, and reporting of the Company’s financials to various stakeholders across the company.

The role focuses on developing the annual budget, providing analysis to stakeholders, and partnering with business units to guide sound decisions. Travel within the MPC territory and in-person meetings with customers are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field.
  • Travel within the MPC service territory and as needed, within the Southern Company system.
  • In-person meetings with business unit customers.

FINANCIAL BUDGET ANALYST

This position supports all aspects of the budget process, including, but not limited to, planning, development, analysis, and reporting of the Company’s financials to various stakeholders across the company.

Major Responsibilities Include
  • Development of the company’s annual budget
  • Provide support and analysis to various stakeholders, including, but not limited to, business units, financial planning, accounting, regulatory, and other areas as needed
  • Partner directly with business units to understand financial needs, provide budget guidance, and support sound business decision-making
  • Help to identify financial issues and business risks
  • Participate in company and system teams as needed to support initiatives and issues related to budget functions
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
  • Travel within the MPC service territory and as needed, within the Southern Company system
  • In-person meetings with business unit customers
