Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly entries, financial statements and respond to regulatory data requests
  • Reconcile account balances to the general ledger
  • Monitor accounting information and internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned areas, resolving control & process issues and applying accounting/system knowledge
  • Assist company personnel in solving problems and training on accounting concepts, systems and procedures

Summary Of Position Duties

Ensure timely and accurate preparation and reporting of accounting information to management, investors, and regulatory bodies. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly entries, financial statements and respond to regulatory data request, cost of service studies and associated data requests. Reconcile account balances to the general ledger. Monitor accounting information and system of internal controls to ensure the Company’s accounting practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned areas that includes resolution of accounting control & process issues and application of accounting & system knowledge in support of Company personnel.

Job Experience And Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Advanced degree or certification desired
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting theory
