Job summary

Mississippi Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company, is seeking a Financial Budget Analyst to support all aspects of the budget process including planning, development, analysis and reporting of the company’s financials to stakeholders across the organization.

The role involves collaborating with business units to understand financial needs, provide budget guidance and assist in sound decision-making. Travel and in-person meetings are required.

FINANCIAL BUDGET ANALYST

JOB SUMMARY:

This position supports all aspects of the budget process, including, but not limited to, planning, development, analysis, and reporting of the Company’s financials to various stakeholders across the company.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Development of the company’s annual budget

  • Provide support and analysis to various stakeholders, including, but not limited to, business units, financial planning, accounting, regulatory, and other areas as needed

  • Partner directly with business units to understand financial needs, provide budget guidance, and support sound business decision-making

  • Help to identify financial issues and business risks

  • Participate in company and system teams as needed to support initiatives and issues related to budget functions

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field

  • Travel within the MPC service territory and as needed, within the Southern Company system

  • In-person meetings with business unit customers
