Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a seasoned financial analyst to perform complex financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for the Academic Affairs department, including grants, endowments, strategic projects and institutional funds. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and/or budgeting.
• Preferred: degree in finance, accounting, or business.
• Preferred: experience in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly financial performance vs. budget.
• Generate and maintain monthly financial reports for department leaders for institutional, grant, project, and endowment accounts.
• Generate monthly forecasts and submit them to the budget office and internal stakeholders.
• Analyze data from MCW systems to identify financial trends (revenue, expense).
• Monitor spend against budget and identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Prepare ad–hoc reports and provide financial interpretation and analysis.
