Job summary

Mohegan Sun is seeking a Financial Analyst to develop monthly reports focusing on operating trends and variances. You will build ad hoc analyses, develop complex financial models, and support budgeting with the FP&A team.

You will monitor performance, assist in evaluating opportunities, and use BI tools like Workday, Cognos, Snowflake, and SQL to ensure accurate reporting and insightful presentations for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field.
• At least 1 year of analytical experience, preferably in a high-volume casino environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the development of various monthly reports with emphasis on operating trend and variance analyses.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

• Responsible for various ad hoc analyses and development of complex financial models associated with different projects/developments/investment opportunities
• Assists the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager with the development of the operating budget
• Monthly reporting on all aspects of the operation including, but not limited to, Slot Report, Table Games Report and the Report on Operations
• Observes and monitors operating results to determine business trends
• Performs ad hoc analyses based on operational trends, economic trends, or competitive developments, when necessary
• Assists in the evaluation of potential business opportunities and strategic initiatives
• Performs post analysis of Arena shows and other events to assess overall property impact and profitability
• Performs labor analysis with the use of key volume indicators to ensure proper staffing to maximize customer service levels while ensuring profitability

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field
• Must have at least one year of analytical experience preferably in a high volume, complex casino environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

• Strong critical thinking skills, particularly for problem solving and trend identification
• Strong analytical, communication and financial presentation skills
• Must be able to multitask and adhere to strict deadlines
