Qualifications

  • 30 months' experience or 30 months' training in accounting or finance including intermediate spreadsheet experience.
  • Undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field with 6 months experience in accounting/finance to include intermediate spreadsheet experience.
  • 12 months of experience as Financial Associate, 66561.
  • Equivalent to Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment; Fiscal Academy may substitute for 4 months of required accounting/fiscal experience.

Job description

What You’ll Do
  • Performs related accounting duties such as conduct complex reconcillations of records and accounts
  • Ensures compliance to AR's, policies, procedures and reporting standards.
  • Prepare, process and or analyze accounting records, financial statements, and or other financial reports and data (i.e., month end, state pay, sales tax, income, and profit and loss statements)
  • Researches and analyzes transaction errors
  • Perform cash transactions (window sales)
  • Administers accounts of TOS (inmate) and internal funds, insures accounts balance daily
  • Performs variety of related clerical tasks (e.g., open,sorts mail; composes and edits correspondence relative to assigned work)
  • Maintains files
  • Operates equipment to generate typed reports and correspondence
  • Answers telephone inquiries
  • Greets customers
  • Responds to or refers complaints
  • Answers general inquiries within established guidelines
  • Activity reports
  • Handles inventory control and asset depreciation
  • Develops forms and manuals for accounting procedures
  • Reviews bank transactions for questionable and /or unathorized payment card transactions.
  • Place supply orders
  • Compiles documents needed for auditors (fiscal, IMA, ACA) reviews
  • Attends meetings and trainings
  • Works on special projects, committees and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.

  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 mos. exp. or 6 mos. trg. in accounting &/or finance to include an intermediate level of experience in spreadsheet software.
  • Or 12 mos. exp. as Financial Associate, 66561.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
