Position Purpose
The Financial Analyst evaluates the financial condition of individuals and businesses applying for business credits with the bank. Related loans will include conventional business loans or Government Lending, USDA and SBA 7(a), 504 credits and other lending transactions. This position analyzes loan data on new, renewal and existing business loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, other banks and bank files. Prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for credit officers on these business loans.
Position Responsibilities
- Preparing, reviewing and analyzing the creditworthiness of all Government Guaranteed Lending loan originations and renewals by collecting all necessary documentation, compiling and spreading information in Bank’s software.
- Manages loan applications and prospective customers assigned that involve significant amounts of loan screening and analysis. Conducts thorough, comprehensive business and organizational analysis to form a deep, broad, accurate and up-to-date understanding of that business’s health, capacity and capability to appropriately utilize and fully repay its loan in a timely manner. Analyzes economic and market data.
- Works collaboratively and cooperatively with other staff to complete loan transactions, promote internal teamwork facilitate learning and enable the loan department’s effectiveness. Effectively manages expectations and changing priorities.
- Supervises assigned loan portfolio and works closely with Special Asset Management or work-out staff as necessary.
- Ensures the security and confidentiality of private customer information. Protects against unauthorized access to or use of customer information that could result in harm or inconvenience to the customer.
- Be able to exercise discretion and work independently to make judgements with respect to matters of significance, and to be able to discern items that can impact risk to the Bank
- Work independently in the performance of office work directly related to the oversight and management of the general business operations of the bank while performing oversight and management of task on behalf of the bank’s customers and clients
Minimum Education & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience analyzing business financial statements, producing debt coverage analysis using GAAP and financial analysis methods
- A track record of success in fostering and sustaining profitable business relationships with small to medium sized businesses
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
Technical Knowledge And Skills
- Knowledge of computer systems as they relate to bank lending activities, including Microsoft Office
- A strong knowledge of credit analysis principles and pertinent laws
- Excellent business, financial statement, collateral analysis and research skills
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- A strong knowledge of credit analysis principles and pertinent laws
- Thorough knowledge and experience with Jack Henry Bank Core Processing System and LaserPro a plus
- Must be a creative thinker and proactive problem solver with a history of working efficiently and effectively, meeting deadlines and following projects through to completion
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
Working Arrangements
- 100% remote role
- Candidates within traveling distance to our Raleigh, NC location preferred.
Compensation
- Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $105,000 annually. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.
- Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.
