MDW Associates is seeking a highly qualified

DAI Financial Analyst to provide support to the Comptroller Office of our Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) client. DARPA's mission is to maintain the technological superiority of the U.S. military and prevent technological surprise from harming our national security by sponsoring revolutionary, high-payoff research that bridges the gap between fundamental discoveries and their military use. The DAI Financial Analyst may perform a combination of the following duties:

  1. Work with the Comptroller's Budget Analysts to support DARPA technical offices, providing tier 1 financial help desk assistance for fiscal, budgetary, and procurement matters. Responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and creating funding documents; tracking internal and external documents; interacting with agents to ensure accurate processing; updating financial systems; and preparing ad hoc reports.
  2. Assist in troubleshooting budgetary, execution, or financial system issues, providing guidance, resolving issues, and directing personnel to appropriate contacts.
  3. Analyze dormant funding documents regarding commitments, obligations, and expenditures; validate the continued need for funding with internal and external financial staff; compile financial execution data; and provide weekly metrics and status updates.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years in analyzing and evaluating complex textual and/or quantitative information; experience with automated systems, database maintenance, and reporting; strong communication skills; and ability to anticipate and plan.
  • 5 years of specialized experience in similar services, knowledge of accounting principles, DoD financial policies, and ability to analyze and prepare financial documents in compliance with the DoD FMR.

Preferred Experience/Skills: Experience with Defense Agency Initiative (DAI).

Education: BA/BS degree required.

Security Clearance: Must possess a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance.
