Qualifications

• Expertise in budget analysis, corporate allocations, variance resolutions, financial extraction.
• Must come from Healthcare Payor industry; BCBS desirable; Federal Healthcare acceptable.
• Familiar with GAAP and federal regulations.

Job description

Financial AnalystElite Technical is seeking a Financial Analyst with Healthcare Payor or Federal Healthcare industry expertise. This position is with our client, a major Healthcare Payor organization in the Baltimore MD area. This position is hybrid (3+ onsite visits per month) and is a contract to permanent opportunity. The selected candidate will:

• Be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data as well as preparing reports, models, presentations and recommendations for leaders of a business or clients. Interfaces regularly with project managers and task leads. Supports moderately complex projects.
• Prepares various accounting and financial reports, analyzes and verifies data and financial reports to produce the financial results for assigned business units and challenge accounting processes.
• Investigates and researches problem account reconciliation on an as-assigned basis in order to improve controls over general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and balance sheet activity. Analyzes trends, calculates and verifies data. Interfaces with other areas to develop reporting specifications, methods and procedures, and prioritizes requests.
• Performs moderately to complex analysis, gathers, compiles and interprets financial data to ensure compliance with applicable regulations or guidelines, identify trends and provide insight for decision making. Analyzes and prepare journal entries, monthly account reconciliation, responding to internal and external auditors, management, and finance department inquiries.
• Responds to manager, director, and executive inquiries, handles special requests, researches moderately complex accounting issues. Prepares financial data for presentation to upper management.

Required Skills

• BS Degree in Finance or similar with 3+ years of Financial Analysis experience (7 years without a degree)
• Expertise in budget analysis, corporate allocations, variance/discrepancy resolutions, financial extraction, etc...
• Must be coming from the Healthcare Payor industry - BCBS would be highly desired. Federal Healthcare acceptable
• MS Excel, Oracle essbase & Ariba = Required
• Good understanding of GAPP, STAT, and federal regulations.
