Job Description

The Financial Consultant analyzes and communicates financial results for key products, markets, and initiatives. They develop compelling storylines to help deepen client insights and recommend creative actions to guide strategy and operations. This role involves formulating financial projections to support performance prediction, tracking, and diagnosing potential issues.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own the externally reported Claims (excluding Catastrophes) expense ratio, isolating variances, performing forecasts, and storytelling main themes.
2. Partner with other finance teams, particularly Canada and National General, to understand the overall Claims expense ratio, finding efficiencies and opportunities across organizations.
3. Collaborate with Accounting and Reserving to forecast and plan how GAAP Accounting and claims reserves influence future expenses.
4. Work on key initiatives, potentially including customer acquisition cost, customer lifetime value, and expenses by channel.
5. Provide accurate, timely reports with financial insights to enable business partners to improve performance.
6. Use analysis to influence and drive action within finance, leadership, and business partners by providing fact-based, holistic, and forward-looking perspectives to identify emerging issues and trends, and assist in strategy implementation.
7. Prepare and build storylines for financial updates.
8. Identify key drivers, quantify impacts, and forecast implications, understanding how data points interrelate.
9. Engage with leadership to understand the business implications of current trends.
10. Develop and lead effective presentations for small groups.

Education

4-year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience

2 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Compensation

Salary range: $50,700.00 - $89,062.50 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
