Job summary

Antelope Valley College seeks a Financial Aid Manager to oversee daily operations of the Financial Aid Office and act in the Director's absence. The role ensures compliance with federal/state laws, supervises staff, and coordinates audits, needs analysis, and outreach programs to support student access to aid.

The position emphasizes policy development, staff training, and data integrity across ED Express, COD, NSLDS, Web Grants, and related systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; preferably in accounting, business, economics, finance, public administration, or related field.
• Cannot be in default on federal student loans or federal grants overpayments.
• Three years of full-time, paid experience in financial management involving fiscal analysis and planning.
• One year of experience in a college/university financial aid office responsible for office operations.
• Two years of supervisory experience (may be concurrent).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee processing of financial aid applications (E).
• Serve as Financial Aid Director in the absence of the Director (E).
• Provide leadership and administrative oversight for the District’s Financial Aid, Federal Work-Study, and Job Placement programs (E).
• Develop and maintain policy manuals to ensure timely financial aid processing (E).
• Supervise and evaluate staff; identify training needs and develop training plans (E).
• Coordinate reconciliation of federal, state, and institutional programs (E).
• Coordinate responses to audits, program reviews, and compliance reviews (E).
• Coordinate responses to escalated student issues (E).
• Organize financial aid outreach with local schools and community organizations (E).
• Maintain security of PII and student records per federal regulations (E).
• Utilize ED Express, COD, NSLDS, Web Grants, and National Student Clearinghouse to generate reports and track awards (E).
• Perform related duties as assigned (E).
