Job summary

Ancora Education's Berks Technical Institute in Allentown, PA, is seeking a Part Time Financial Aid Officer to guide students through Title IV options and ensure timely, compliant packaging.

The FAO will collaborate with the Campus President to improve the Financial Aid Department and work closely with admissions to secure enrollment and proper documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED acceptable) from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service-related field.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must not be in default on any federal student loan.

Responsibilities

• Advise incoming, continuing, and re-entry students on Title IV funds and resources to cover educational costs.
• Explain FAFSA submission and Direct Loan counseling.
• Complete verification on all applications selected by the DOE.
• Resolve conflicting information in financial aid documents.
• Conduct financial aid estimates for prospective enrollees.
• Submit files timely for Campus Compliance Specialist review with low error rate.
• Coordinate with admissions to ensure packaging documentation.
• Ensure files are uploaded into CampusVue.
• Provide updates to Campus President on missing paperwork for Title IV funding.
• Advise students about Institutional Payment Plans (IPP).
• Track activities in CampusVue and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Financial Aid Officer (FAO) advises prospective and current students regarding financial aid options, including the availability of Title IV Programs. In this process, the FAO ensures that the customer has access to all relevant information, guidelines, and eligibility requirements, and supports the customer in applying for available financial aid. The FAO, working within company processes, ensures that students are packaged on time and within compliance standards. The FAO will work directly with the Campus President to develop improvements to the overall quality and environment of the Financial Aid Department.

Key Responsibilities

Advise incoming, continuing, and re-entry students on the availability of Title IV funds and resources to cover the investment in their educational cost.

Answer student questions regarding completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and Direct Loan Entrance/Exit Counseling

Complete verification on all applications selected by the Department of Education

Resolve conflicting information that is identified between financial aid documents and other documents contained in the student's file

Conduct financial aid estimates for students who are interested in enrollment

Timely submission of student files for Campus Compliance Specialist review, maintaining a low error rate

Effectively communicate with admissions department personnel to ensure future enrollments have obtained appropriate documentation for packaging

Ensure files are uploaded into the CampusVue operating system

Provide updates to the Campus President on students who have not submitted documentation or required paperwork to receive Title IV funding

Advise students, during the packaging process, of Institutional Payment Plans (IPP) and facility completion of the IPP process where appropriate.

Effectively use and track activities in CampusVue

Other duties as assigned

Experience and Education Required

High School Diploma (GED acceptable) from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

1 year of experience in a customer service-related field

Ability to multitask while maintaining organization

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

Must not be in default on any federal student loan

Experience and Education Preferred

Associate’s degree or higher from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

1 year of prior experience in Financial Aid

Experience with CampusVue
