Job summary

Ancora Education is seeking a Financial Aid Officer (FAO) to guide prospective and current students through financial aid options, including Title IV programs. The FAO ensures access to information, eligibility requirements, and assists with timely packaging within compliance standards, collaborating with the Campus President to improve the Financial Aid Department.

The role requires advising on Title IV funds, completing FAFSA steps, verification, and communicating with Admissions and CampusVue

Qualifications

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise students on Title IV funds and resources to cover educational costs.
  • Answer FAFSA questions and Direct Loan counseling requirements.
  • Complete verification for applications selected by the Department of Education.
  • Resolve discrepancies between financial aid documents and student records.
  • Prepare financial aid estimates for prospective students.
  • Submit and track files for Campus Compliance review with accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Admissions to ensure proper documentation for packaging.
  • Upload files into CampusVue and provide status updates to Campus President.
  • Educate students on Institutional Payment Plans during packaging.
  • Utilize CampusVue to manage daily activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Full Time Hourly 40 hours Clerical Remote, US

Salary Range: $20.50 To $22.50 Hourly

Job Summary

The Financial Aid Officer (FAO) advises prospective and current students regarding financial aid options, including the availability of Title IV Programs. In this process, the FAO ensures that the customer has access to all relevant information, guidelines, and eligibility requirements, and supports the customer in applying for available financial aid. The FAO, working within company processes, ensures that students are packaged on time and within compliance standards. The FAO will work directly with the Campus President to develop improvements to the overall quality and environment of the Financial Aid Department.

Key Responsibilities

Advise incoming, continuing, and re-entry students on the availability of Title IV funds and resources to cover the investment in their educational cost.

Answer student questions regarding completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and Direct Loan Entrance/Exit Counseling

Complete verification on all applications selected by the Department of Education

Resolve conflicting information that is identified between financial aid documents and other documents contained in the student's file

Conduct financial aid estimates for students who are interested in enrollment

Timely submission of student files for Campus Compliance Specialist review, maintaining a low error rate

Effectively communicate with admissions department personnel to ensure future enrollments have obtained appropriate documentation for packaging

Ensure files are uploaded into the CampusVue operating system

Provide updates to the Campus President on students who have not submitted documentation or required paperwork to receive Title IV funding

Advise students, during the packaging process, of Institutional Payment Plans (IPP) and facility completion of the IPP process where appropriate.

Effectively use and track activities in CampusVue

Other duties as assigned

Experience and Education Required
High School Diploma (GED acceptable) from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
1 year of experience in a customer service-related field
Ability to multitask while maintaining organization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
Must not be in default on any federal student loan
Experience and Education Preferred
Associate’s degree or higher from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
1 year of prior experience in Financial Aid
Experience with CampusVue
