Job summary

Saint Louis University is seeking a Financial Services Counselor to advise students and families on financial aid programs, assess aid eligibility, and explain financing options. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• One or more years of related work experience in a financial aid office, with experience in counseling and aid assessment
• Full‑Time

Responsibilities

• Advises and counsels students, parents, agencies, and University staff on all aspects of financial aid programs (federal, state, university, private): policies, procedures, practices, office services, and document completion
• processes applications/documents related to aid programs
• processes emergency loans
• Conducts workshops on the financial aid process
• assists in aid eligibility assessment, funds disbursement, and aid reconciliation procedures
• Serves as liaison for office functions, programs, and services, internal and external to the University
• attends high school nights and special events
• manages incoming calls, e-mail messages, and follow-up procedures applicable to assigned student groups
• Reviews and updates award notifications
• coordinates special condition applications
• problem-solves for aid applicants
• coordinates enrollment management and development financial aid and scholarship activities with admission counselors
• Performs other duties as assigned
