Job summary

Colby Community College is seeking a full-time Financial Aid Counselor to help students and families understand, apply for, and receive financial aid. The role includes advising on programs, FAFSA completion, verification, and documentation, ensuring compliance and clear communication across campus while promoting financial literacy and responsible borrowing.

You will conduct workshops, collaborate with other departments, and support student success through accurate aid processing and outreach.

Qualifications

• 0 - 6 months of experience in a finance-related position, dealing with customers and navigating a large number of regulations or procedures, is highly preferred.

• Assist with reporting, reconciliation, and compliance audits.
• Ensure accurate data entry and file maintenance within the College's student information and financial aid system.
• Create and distribute informational materials to help students navigate financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 0 - 6 months of experience in a finance-related position, dealing with customers and navigating a large number of regulations or procedures, is highly preferred.

SALARY

$19.50 per hour.
Flexible benefits program that includes options for single and family health and dental coverage, life insurance, reimbursement accounts, sick leave, and vacation leave allowances, along with 21 days of holiday pay. Participation in the state retirement program is required.
