Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to oversee day‑to‑day financial aid operations, advising students and families on eligibility and financing options, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a bi‑annual awarding environment.

This role supports recruitment and retention goals, trains staff, and collaborates with internal and external partners to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, masters preferred in a related Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts, or Social Sciences Discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in financial aid is required.
• Knowledge of federal financial aid procedures and regulations; Datatel's Colleague Financial Aid Module and Federal Direct systems required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to financial aid inquiries via email, phone and meetings; provide exceptional customer service about the aid process and policies.
• Independently perform file review, federal verification, and federal and institutional awarding; manage SAIG mailbox, private loan portfolio, state programs, scholarships.
• Create, edit, and ensure timely communications of financial aid information (virtual and print).
• Develop student programming for new student enrollment and aid, paying the bill, and loan repayment information.
• Work with leadership to create statistical reports related to loan and scholarship data.
• Remain current regarding federal financial aid policies.
