Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to supervise day-to-day financial aid operations and support student recruitment, retention, and exceptional customer service.

You will advise families on eligibility, awarding, financing options, debt management, and financial planning within a BBAY framework, while helping train and develop staff and ensuring compliant, efficient service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred in related field; 3–5 years in financial aid or strong customer service.
• Proficiency in Datatel’s Colleague Financial Aid Module and Federal Direct systems; MS Office and data management skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, verbal and written communication; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Respond to financial aid inquiries via email, phone, and meetings with high-quality customer service.
• Independently perform file review, federal verification, and awarding; manage SAIG mailbox, private loans, state programs, scholarships.
• Create and disseminate timely communications about financial aid information for students (oral and written).
• Assist with reporting and analytics on institutional and federal loan activity and enrollment trends.
• Stay current on federal and institutional financial aid policies and participate in related events.
