Chowan University is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to counsel students and families through the financial aid process. You will assist with FAFSA completion, determine eligibility for federal, state and institutional aid, and make and adjust awards throughout the year.
You will verify student records, communicate award details, and collaborate with admissions and other departments to support applicants and enrolled students. Strong Excel and database skills preferred.
Adjacent to the Wayland L. Jenkins Jr. Fine Arts Center
This position is responsible for counseling and advising students and families on the process to receiving financial aid. The Financial Aid Advisor will help students complete FAFSA, determine eligibility for federal, state and institutional aid for individual programs, and make awards to students. The Advisor will also make adjustments to awards during the year. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid.
The incumbent must possess specific areas of knowledge, skill, and ability to be able to explain and/or demonstrate he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some combination of skills and abilities.Furthermore, he/she must conduct such activities in light of the mission and purpose of Chowan University.
