Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Real estate and/or lease accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process across multiple legal entities from start to finish.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial information, including intercompany eliminations and true-ups.
• Manage accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets, including leases, property-level debt, amortization, and refinancing activity.
• Prepare and maintain debt schedules, amortization schedules, rollforwards, reconciliations, and other complex accounting workbooks.
• Analyze financial information across multiple entities, locations, and departments.
• Identify accounting issues and risks proactively and communicate recommendations to leadership.
• Present financial information and analysis to the CFO and executive/ownership team.
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely, and well-supported financial reporting.
• Lead and develop a team of three accounting professionals.
• Continuously improve accounting processes, systems, reporting, and use of technology.

Connect Search is conducting an exclusive search for an experienced Accounting Manager to join a privately held, highly successful organization with significant operations and multiple legal entities. This is a high-visibility opportunity for an accounting leader who can take ownership of a complex, multi-entity close and serve as a key resource to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and the confidence to present financial information to executive leadership. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to make an immediate impact and grow into an Assistant Controller or Corporate Controller role.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process across multiple legal entities from start to finish
• Prepare and review consolidated financial information, including intercompany eliminations and true-ups
• Manage accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets, including leases, property-level debt, amortization, and refinancing activity

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong understanding of intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations
• Real estate and/or lease accounting experience
• Experience with property-level debt schedules, amortization, and refinancing-related journal entries
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, multi-tab workbooks, and complex reconciliations
• Experience independently managing a full month-end close
• Strong communication, leadership, and presentation skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience in multi-location retail, or another high-volume transactional environment
• Sage Intacct experience; NetSuite or another sophisticated multi-dimensional ERP is also valuable
• CPA or demonstrated commitment to completing the CPA certification
