Tenneco Inc. in Wisconsin–Waupun is seeking a financial accounting professional to obtain, prepare, and record data in the company’s financial area with responsibilities in system compliance, cost analysis and detailed reporting.

The role supports posting, reconciling, budgeting, and intercompany reconciliations, while ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and maintaining fixed asset records at the Waupun plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent with emphasis in financial accounting.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred with emphasis in financial accounting.
• Ability to read and write English; ability to read and interpret documents and manuals.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, SAP, 10Stream and business systems.
• Able to maintain confidential information and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Participates in training to produce quality product/services and ensures customer requirements and standards are met.
• Comply with legal and other requirements to avoid injury or health issues.
• Identify potential emergencies and report incidents to supervisor/manager.
• Adhere to quality, environmental, health and safety policies.
• Perform basic professional accounting activities including posting, summarizing, reconciling, auditing, ledger maintenance, and report preparation.
• Apply accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable and the cash process.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and policies.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts (general ledger).
• Coordinate accounts receivable processing with CFS Team at corporate headquarters.
• Maintain fixed asset records for Tenneco Waupun.
• Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance for Tenneco Waupun.
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations with other plants.
• Manage annual physical inventory.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard vs actual costs.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting; develop projections for revenue and expenses.
• Complete special projects as assigned and prepare written communications.
• Work independently and attend as required.
