Job summary

Tenneco Inc. in Texas is seeking an experienced accountant to support financial planning, reporting and close processes for a manufacturing environment.

You will assist with budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis; coordinate with shared services and internal teams to ensure accurate ledgers and compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley. Strong leadership and communication are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in financial accounting or cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, macros, and mainframe-based accounting systems; SAP and 10Stream experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley; strong accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities

• Support development of Strategic Planning Process, Annual Operating Plan, Monthly Forecast, Weekly Flash and Monthly Profitability Planning and Reporting and Analysis of Actuals.
• Month-end close (journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.) and financial review analysis for multiple ledgers.
• Maintain reporting tools tracking key performance indicators and profitability improvement plans.
• Assist with developing Capital Appropriation Requests and business cases for analysis of ROI and EVA.
• Assist with managing accounting activities including billing, accounts payable, payroll, capital assets, general ledger and standard costing systems and ensure compliance with SOX and policies.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests and safeguarding of company assets.
• Set standard costs and overhead rates; support GAAP compliance.
