Job summary

William & Mary’s Reves Center seeks a Finance Specialist to manage student billing, scholarships, and financial transactions. The role supports study abroad programs and coordinates with the Bursar’s Office, Financial Aid, and Payroll to resolve issues and ensure accurate postings.

Responsibilities include reviewing transactions for GAAP compliance, handling payments, and advising staff on procurement and travel policies. A collaborative, detail-oriented professional is desired.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
Strong knowledge of general accounting, budgeting, reconciliations and reporting.
Familiarity with GAAP and procurement/purchasing policies.
Proficient in standard office software and communication.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Handle student billing, financial aid payments, and student payments in coordination with campus offices.
Process invoices and wire transfers; advise on procurement and travel payments.
Provide guidance on financial policies and assist with travel, cost accounting, and year-end close activities.
