The Vermont Judiciary is seeking a Finance Specialist II for a permanent position in Montpelier. This position performs routine financial and bookkeeping tasks that support the day-to-day operations of the Vermont Judiciary. The primary responsibilities include processing payments, maintaining and monitoring vendor accounts, and performing standard reconciliation activities.
The Finance Specialist II completes basic accounting work involving the maintenance, review, and reconciliation of financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting principles and procedures. Work consists largely of recurring tasks within established processes and may involve supporting multiple fiscal programs within a centralized accounting unit. Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Accounting Supervisor.
Starting salary is $22.51 per hour. This position will be eligible for longevity increases in accordance with the State step pay plan and annual cost of living increases as enacted by the Vermont State Legislature.
High School diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or clerical work involving accounting or financial records.
OR
Completion of a vocational/technical training program in business, office administration, financial support or related area AND one (1) year or more of experience in accounting, bookkeeping or clerical work involving accounting or financial records.
OR
Associate degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field.
OR
Two years or more full-time college coursework in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field.
OR
One (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Specialist I with the State of Vermont.
Special Requirements:
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required. College training may be substituted for the work experience on a year-for-year basis.
