The Finance Project Controller is responsible for ensuring proper project information and correct accounting for revenue recognition across the Arcadis project portfolio. Good business acumen, attention to detail, as well as a thorough understanding of risk management and accounting principles relating to the recognition of revenue and costs, are all essential. This is a business-facing role where the job holder interacts regularly with commercial operations in a finance business partner capacity (challenge and build) and adds value to commercial decision-making. The Project Controller is a highly visible role, and so the job holder must be comfortable working across all levels of the business, including senior management.

Role accountabilities:

  1. Project oversight and monitoring in integrated project management software.
  2. Coordinate with project managers/directors and clients for all aspects of invoicing projects, and issuing of billings in a timely fashion.
  3. Maintain/update project reporting information using Power BI tools.
  4. Monitor receivables, follow up on collections, and update Collections Module to help forecast timing of invoicing and estimated collection dates.
  5. Be flexible and able to multi-task, as deliverable requirements can change rapidly.
  6. Participate in monthly project reviews on major projects to ensure accurate financial reporting and understand key concerns of the project delivery team (e.g., contract finalization, work delivery, resourcing, client communication, upcoming variations, amendments, and OH&S concerns).
  7. Perform other duties as required by your manager or Arcadis.
  8. Ensure familiarity and compliance with Healthy and Safety regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant accounting degree.
  • Post-graduate qualifications (CPA/CA/CIMA) are an advantage.
  • Technical, commercial, and delivery acumen.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days of PTO per year. The salary range is $57,786 - $77,048, based on experience, education, location, and other factors.
