Job description

Instructional Support Student Re-Engagement Specialist

Purpose of Position: As part of the LCHS team of educators and support staff, identify and engage students who meet criteria for re-engagement services, including students at risk of not completing school or those who have left school before completion. Collaborate with LCHS Administrators, Counseling team, and Building Leadership Team to develop and implement an Early Warning System and Persist, Reengage, and Recover practices to ensure students remain engaged through to graduation.

Length of Assignment: 189 days per year; see the Academic Calendar. Start date: August 1, 2025. This is a grant-funded position with funding anticipated through June 30, 2028.

Compensation: $48,000-$60,000 annually, based on education and experience, paid monthly. Benefits include PTO, Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance. Most weeks are four days. FLSA: Exempt.

Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Using data to identify students for re-engagement based on grant criteria.
  • Participating in Behavior Response and Emergency Response Teams.
  • Collaborating with counseling and administration to support students and events.
  • Providing case management for up to 30 students, including family engagement.
  • Adjusting caseload based on student progress and data.
  • Assessing assets and barriers impacting student engagement.
  • Creating collaborative re-engagement plans involving students, families, and staff.
  • Monitoring student progress and adapting plans as needed.
  • Working with teachers for early intervention and credit recovery opportunities.
  • Supporting refinement of dropout prevention strategies.
  • Documenting student progress and maintaining records.
  • Building relationships with community resources for student support.
  • Participating in data collection and program evaluation.
  • Applying evidence-based dropout prevention practices.
  • Promoting a professional and ethical school district image.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, Human Services, Psychology, or Social Work preferred; equivalent experience considered. 3+ years working with youth, experience with public education, bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Must pass background check and be authorized to work in the US. Familiarity with Leadville is a plus.

Logistics: Schedule includes 10 additional days beyond the teacher calendar, with specific days to be agreed upon. Workspace provided, possibly shared. Annual evaluation based on job performance.
