Job description

Position Overview

StriveWell is seeking a highly analytical, organized, and business-minded Finance Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day financial operations, reporting, forecasting, and financial visibility across our growing portfolio of health and wellness brands.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Operations Manager will serve as StriveWell's primary internal point person for day-to-day finance, working closely with our external accounting and strategic finance partners.

This is a hands‑on role for a finance professional who has mastered the fundamentals and is ready for broader ownership within a growing multi‑location organization. The Finance Operations Manager will ensure leadership has accurate, timely, and actionable financial information while creating greater discipline and consistency across budgeting, forecasting, cash management, reporting, and financial operations.

The role will own day‑to‑day execution while partnering with the CEO and external finance professionals on technical accounting, financing, capital structure, transactions, and other senior‑level financial matters. This is consistent with the recommended scope for the position at this compensation level.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Business Performance
  • Manage monthly financial reporting across StriveWell and its portfolio of brands and locations.
  • Maintain studio‑level and consolidated P&L reporting.
  • Prepare budget‑to‑actual reporting and provide clear variance commentary.
  • Monitor revenue, labor, operating expenses, EBITDA, cash contribution, and other financial KPIs.
  • Identify financial trends, risks, opportunities, and performance gaps.
  • Provide the CEO with recurring financial reporting and clear insights into business performance.
  • Partner with operational leadership to help Studio and Regional Leaders understand financial performance and take action.
  • Continuously improve the quality, consistency, and timeliness of management reporting.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Visibility
  • Manage StriveWell's annual budgeting process.
  • Maintain rolling financial forecasts throughout the year.
  • Develop and maintain a practical 13-week cash forecast.
  • Maintain visibility into cash balances, near‑term obligations, and liquidity needs.
  • Update forecasts based on actual performance and changing business conditions.
  • Build scenario models to support operational and investment decisions.
  • Work with leadership to improve forecasting accuracy across brands and locations.
Finance Operations
  • Oversee day‑to‑day accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Coordinate payment workflows, approvals, and recurring financial obligations.
  • Maintain schedules for debt, capital expenditures, rent, royalties, taxes, and other major obligations.
  • Maintain routine lender reporting and financial information requests.
  • Coordinate routine banking administration.
  • Maintain financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and streamline financial processes and controls.
Accounting & Month‑End Coordination
  • Coordinate the monthly close process with StriveWell's external accounting partner.
  • Ensure required information is accurate and provided on schedule.
  • Review monthly financial statements and investigate inconsistencies and unexpected variances.
  • Work with external accounting partners to resolve coding, classification, and reporting issues.
  • Maintain day‑to‑day administration and organization of QuickBooks or other financial systems.
  • Improve the consistency of financial processes across StriveWell entities and locations.
  • Coordinate with accounting, tax, and other external finance partners as needed.
KPI & Operational Finance
  • Build and maintain financial and operational dashboards across the StriveWell portfolio.
  • Connect financial performance with operating metrics such as memberships, leads, sales, retention, utilization, labor, and studio performance.
  • Develop studio‑level reporting that gives operational leaders greater visibility into their businesses.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations and other leaders to identify opportunities to improve performance.
  • Support the development of financial benchmarks and performance expectations across brands and locations.
  • Help leadership understand the financial implications of operational decisions.
Financial Modeling & Strategic Support
  • Build financial models for new studios, business initiatives, investments, and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare analysis and recommendations for the CEO to support business decisions.
  • Support evaluation of new locations and expansion opportunities.
  • Organize financial information required for refinancing, acquisitions, investments, and other strategic transactions.
  • Provide models and analysis supporting capital allocation decisions.
  • Partner with external finance professionals on complex modeling, financing, due diligence, and transaction work.

The Finance Operations Manager provides the financial analysis and internal coordination behind these decisions; the CEO and external finance partners retain ownership of refinancing, lender negotiations, capital structure, acquisitions, technical accounting, and other significant strategic finance matters.

What We're Looking For

The ideal Finance Operations Manager is:

  • Analytical — able to understand the story behind the numbers.
  • Highly organized — capable of managing reporting, schedules, deadlines, and multiple entities.
  • Business-minded — understands that finance exists to help the organization make better decisions.
  • Independent — able to own recurring financial responsibilities without constant oversight.
  • Detail-oriented — accuracy and financial integrity matter.
  • Proactive — identifies issues before they become problems.
  • Resourceful — comfortable investigating discrepancies and finding answers.
  • A strong communicator — able to translate financial information for non-financial leaders.
  • Growth-oriented — interested in developing alongside a growing multi-brand organization.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, or financial operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, P&A analysis, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple entities or locations strongly preferred.
  • Experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, retail, franchising, or another multi-location consumer business is a plus.
What Success Looks Like

Within the first 90 days, the Finance Operations Manager will:

  • Develop a strong understanding of StriveWell's entity structure, studio economics, financial systems, and external partners.
  • Establish a consistent monthly reporting package with studio‑level P&A and budget‑to‑actual analysis.
  • Establish reliable visibility into cash and near‑term obligations, including a 13‑week cash forecast.
  • Standardize key financial and operational KPIs across SWTHZ and STRONG Pilates.
  • Review AP/AR, payment processes, debt schedules, capital expenditures, and month‑end workflows.
  • Establish an effective reporting cadence with the CEO and external accounting and finance partners.
  • Identify the highest‑priority opportunities to improve StriveWell's financial systems and processes.

Those priorities closely track the right‑sized 90‑day expectations in the finance scope review.

Ultimately, success means StriveWell has reliable financial visibility and discipline: leadership understands where we are performing, where we are off‑plan, what our cash position looks like, and where action is required.
