Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Finance Officer to support the CFO with day-to-day accounting, payroll processing, budgeting, and grant invoicing in Halifax, Charlotte, and Mecklenburg Counties of Southside Virginia.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree or at least four years of business accounting experience, strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, and the ability to communicate with funding sources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years business accounting experience.
• Excellent analytical and data analysis skills.
• Understanding of non-profit accounting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Record receipts and disbursements in the general ledger.
• Generate financial reports on a timely basis.
• Assist with budgeting, grant invoicing, payroll functions and accounts payable.
• Maintain accounting records and support annual audit processes.
• Prepare grant applications, budgets, and funding requests.
