Job summary

AMOpportunities in Chicago seeks a Finance Manager to own reporting, controls, and financial operations as the company scales from startup to foundation. You will own board-ready numbers, manage day-to-day cash, and lead AI-enabled processes to improve speed and accuracy.

Reporting to the VP Finance, you will collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, lenders, and cross-functional partners. The role offers hybrid work with River North office access and room to build a real finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience with month-end close.
• Experience owning external audits and year-end financial statements.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and ability to handle large data sets.
• Experience with cloud accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite).

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process end to end with accurate records.
• Run core financial operations: AR, AP, cash, reconciliations.
• Support external audits and year-end financial statements.
• Own board and lender reporting with commentary and schedules.
• Build scalable, well-documented reporting and AI-enabled processes.
