Acton ADU is seeking a Controller to lead the finance function from the ground up as we scale across California. You will own financial reporting, build robust processes, and partner with leadership to guide decisions that drive growth while maintaining discipline and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in accounting or finance leadership with team management.
• Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Experience implementing or optimizing financial software beyond basic use.
• Strong command of timekeeping, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and finance best practices.
• Bachelor's degree required; CPA is a plus; construction ERP familiarity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a financial system that enables rapid reporting at low administrative cost using software and integrations.
• Prepare business reports, forecasts, and financial statements for leadership action.
• Monitor financial performance, identify cost reduction opportunities, and propose solutions.
• Manage timesheets, payroll, bookkeeping, 401(k), and budget.
• Establish partnerships with lending institutions to expand financing options for homeowners.
• Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal requirements; manage tax credits and annual filings.
