Job summary

Acton ADU is seeking a finance leader to own financial reporting and the infrastructure that enables growth. You will work directly with leadership to shape strategy, oversee accountants and payroll, and partner with lenders to enable homeowner financing growth.

The role requires rigorous judgment, a self-starter attitude, and a track record of implementing or optimizing financial software within a design-build context. We value candor and measurable progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance leadership experience with team management.
• CPA is a plus; experience designing workflows and integrating systems.
• Strong ability to explain financial reality to non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a financial system producing rapid reporting with low admin cost.
• Prepare business reports, forecasts, and financial statements for leadership action.
• Monitor financial performance, identify cost reduction opportunities, and propose fixes.
• Manage timesheets, payroll, bookkeeping, 401(k), and budget.
• Establish lending partnerships to expand financing options for homeowners.
• Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal requirements; manage tax credits and filings.
• Oversee shareholder records and stock option administration.
• Create redundancy in financial functions and train replacements.
• Hire, train, and manage accounting staff and subcontractors.
