Job summary

Davenport Associates, Ltd. is seeking a Director of Finance/Corporate Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, and regulatory compliance for five affiliated properties.

This hands-on role requires expertise in affordable housing, LIHTC, and HUD regulations, with an emphasis on standardized reporting and strong internal controls. The Controller will collaborate with executive leadership to implement systems, manage intercompany transactions, and ensure accurate

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required; CPA preferred but not required.
7–10 years progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3–5 years in affordable housing, LIHTC, or HUD-regulated multifamily real estate.
Experience with multi-entity or limited partnership accounting structures; proficiency in RealPage/Yardi is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements for the organization and five LP entities.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and capital planning across all properties.
Ensure HUD/RIHousing/LIHTC/HOTMA compliance and timely reporting.
Oversee treasury, A/P and A/R, and internal controls for a multi-entity setup.
Support audits, tax filings, and investor reporting.
