Job summary

Triumph, a growing organization in Montgomery County, seeks an Assistant Controller / Finance Manager to partner with the Controller and lead day-to-day accounting operations. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, drive process improvements, and provide insights to guide business decisions.

You will oversee accounting activities, support budgeting and forecasting, manage month-end close, mentor staff, and help strengthen internal controls while ensuring GAAP compliance and timely audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and audit processes.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL maintenance, payroll accounting, and fixed assets.
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial statements.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial schedules.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and process clarity.
• Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial analysis, cost tracking, and operational improvements.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles; monitor variances and provide actionable insights.
• Help implement and optimize financial systems, tools, and reporting automation.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff; promote continuous improvement and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
