Job summary

SpectrumCareers in the DC metro area is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing organization. This hands-on role oversees financial reporting, internal controls, and team management while partnering with senior leadership.

You will own the month-end and year-end close, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, mentor the accounting team, and collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and audits with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• Big 4 public accounting background required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller-level roles.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls).
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Yardi, SAP) is a plus.
