Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Moorpark, CA seeks a Finance Lead to drive strategic and operational financial planning for hardware product lines. This role emphasizes solid financial plans, compliance, and robust controls across the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate partners with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Sales to evaluate costs, manage budgets, and guide senior leadership with sound financial decisions. Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10+ years' experience in relevant disciplines plus at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in costing and pricing complex manufactured products and development contracts.
• Experience in Government Cost accounting principles and FAR.
• Experience in ASC-606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
• Current expertise in MS Office Suite (Excel with v-lookups, conditional formatting, pivot tables), Hyperion, Oracle EBS, ProPricer, MS Project or Fast Track desirable.
• Ability to contribute to business strategies and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provides monthly forecasting and variance reporting for hardware product lines.
• Ensures compliance with internal procedures and government procurement regulations.
• Supports internal and external audits and reviews program Estimates at Complete (EAC).
• Oversees cost control activities and the relationship between product configuration, materials and costs.
• Develops budgets and schedules for programs and performs variance analyses.
• Supports indirect budgeting and cost analyses for assigned departments.
• Assists in proposals and pricing for new captures with Costing teams.
• Collaborates with cost accounting to manage BOMs and supply chain cost variances.
• Translates cost variances and supply constraints into financial impacts and business guidance.
