Job summary

Blacksmith Agency LLC in San Francisco is seeking a strategic finance leader to own forecasting, planning, reporting, and the core finance function while partnering with the founders on capital strategy.

You’ll build models, forecast infrastructure investments, manage treasury and financing, and analyze pricing, margins, and growth metrics. This is a hands-on, in-person role shaping company strategy at a high-growth, hardware-software platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or a high-growth tech company.
• Exceptional financial modeling skills.
• Able to solve ambiguous, first-principles problems.
• Strong communication with both engineers and executives.
• Strong business judgment with a bias toward action.
• Willing to work closely with founders to shape company strategy.
• Understanding how high-growth companies finance expansion and capital structure.

Responsibilities

• Own financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and board reporting.
• Build models to support company planning and strategic decision‑making.
• Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to forecast infrastructure investment and capacity requirements.
• Own cash forecasting, treasury management, capital planning, and financing strategy.
• Analyze pricing, margins, and business performance.
• Support fundraising, investor relations, and strategic projects.
• Build the systems and processes that will scale with the company.
