Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Honolulu offers a Finance Internship designed to show how financial decisions shape businesses, markets and long-term growth in a dynamic hospitality environment.

You will work with the Accounting and Finance Team, assist with daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations, and gain exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and month-end close while shadowing finance leaders.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance.
• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Accounting and Finance Team.
• Assist the property finance team with daily accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reporting.
• Gain exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis at the property level.
• Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and internal control procedures.
• Observe how finance partners with operations to drive profitability.
• Shadow property finance leaders and attend professional development sessions as part of Highgate’s internship curriculum.
• Participate in month-end close process, prepare journal entries, reconciliations and month end financial statements
• Assist with various projects as needed
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
