Highgate Hotels, LP invites bright students to join the 2027 Finance Internship in Honolulu. This hands-on program puts you alongside our accounting and finance teams to learn how financial decisions shape business strategy in a hospitality context.

The internship emphasizes forecasting, budgeting, and monthly close activities, with exposure to real-world reporting and audits. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, plus onsite work, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance (in progress) or equivalent.
• Minimum junior status.
• Knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to participate in a 10-week program (June - August).
• Onsite work requirement.

Responsibilities

• Assist the property finance team with daily accounting functions.
• Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and related reporting.
• Gain exposure to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
• Participate in audits, compliance reviews, and internal control procedures.
• Shadow property finance leaders and attend development sessions.
• Use hotel accounting systems (PeopleSoft, Birchstreet, or PMS) under supervision.
• Shadow property finance leaders and attend professional development sessions as part of Highgate's internship curriculum.
• Participate in month-end close process, prepare journal entries, reconciliations and month end financial statements
• Assist with various projects as needed
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
