Job summary

Basin Electric Power Cooperative in Bismarck, ND is offering a summer internship for 2027, providing temporary project-based assistance in multiple departments and exposure to SEC reporting and financial practices.

You will work with the Financial Services team to support SEC filings, perform data research, and develop recommendations on financial reporting; the role targets students in accounting, business, or finance with GPA 2.5+ and real-world training in a utility cooperative environment.

Qualifications

• Full-time student in a 4-year Accounting/Business/Finance program with 2 years completed or recent grad.
• Minimum GPA 2.5.
• Transcript required at time of application.
• Previous internship or relevant work experience preferred.
• Additional certifications or coursework in field of study may be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and submission of SEC filings.
• Conduct research and analysis to support financial disclosures.
• Provide strategic recommendations on financial reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with departments to gather and verify financial data.
• Ensure disclosures meet SEC requirements and standards.
• Support the Financial Services team on various projects.
• Work with the Director of SEC Reporting & Internal Controls and staff in Financial Reporting & General Accounting.
• Follow safety, security, and procedural guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
