Turner Construction Company, New York North division, is offering a Summer Finance Intern program in Albany, NY. You will contribute to core accounting functions across AR, AP, GL, and reporting while learning project finance concepts and AI-enabled data tools.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or university offering accredited degree programs in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least 1 year of completed coursework
• Must be 18 years of age to work at a construction project site
• Willing to work a standard work week
• Basic understanding of GAAP (e.g., journal entries, general ledger)
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills through leadership, campus involvement, or community activities
• Interest in learning how finance supports real-world construction projects and business operations, including AI tools
• Ability to take direction, listen, and complete tasks within deadlines
• Highly organized with attention to detail for data entry
• Clear and professional verbal and written communication in English
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or in a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiar with collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint)
• Willingness to learn AI tools to improve financial processes
• Some travel may be required, access to reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Engage fully in Intern Program learning and complete assigned responsibilities with supervisor guidance
• Learn and apply Turner financial accounting processes, including construction accounting and revenue recognition
• Follow company policies related to financial reporting and data governance
• Develop communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills through practice and feedback
• Participate in training sessions, project site visits, and Intern Program meetings
• Review billing details against contracts and invoice backup for AR accuracy
• Assist with validating project cost coding and expense reconciliation
• Support Shared Services tasks like invoice processing and month-end reporting
• Assist with budgeting analysis, cost reallocations, and cash flow monitoring
• Gain exposure to AI-enabled tools and data analytics for finance processes
• Contribute to process improvements and automation ideas for financial workflows
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and presentations for financial reviews
• Share progress updates with supervisors and seek feedback
• Other duties as assigned
