Job summary

Midland States Bank is seeking a Finance Intern in Effingham, IL for Summer 2027. The role supports the Accounting and FP&A teams with financial reporting, budgeting, and special projects. You will gain exposure to corporate finance within the banking industry and participate in cross-functional initiatives.

The internship runs mid-May to early August, with a 40-hour work week, and requires local residence to Effingham. Competitive hourly pay and Total Rewards accompany the experience.

Qualifications

Enrolled in Accounting, Finance, or related business degree program with at least 2 years completed.
Ability to work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Must reside local to Effingham, IL and report to the Effingham office.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily accounting functions and reconciliations.
Support month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
Participate in quarterly financial reporting processes.
Contribute to system implementations and process improvements.
Perform other duties as assigned by Finance team.
