Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Finance Intern in Richmond, VA. You will gain hands-on experience with FP&A finance, dashboard development, and data analysis in a large North American food distribution company.

You will work on real business analyses, learn Snowflake, Power BI, and AI-enabled workflows while collaborating with leadership and mentors to deliver actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Must be in close proximity to Richmond, VA.
• Rising senior pursuing a degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science or related field.
• Demonstrated experience with an analytical coding language (R or Python preferred).
• Relevant coursework in Data Science, Statistics/Machine Learning, or Econometrics.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• SQL or Power BI exposure a plus.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist FP&A Finance team with dashboard development to enhance effectiveness of current and future analyses.
• Review FP&A Finance Team dashboards to implement uniform visualization standards.
• Learn the Snowflake data environment to overhaul and enhance existing Power BI dashboards.
• Support the team with ad-hoc analysis in Excel, Power BI, and R/Python.

Summer Intern Project Goal: Assist FP&A Finance team with dashboard development to enhance effectiveness of current & future analyses. Perform ad-hoc data analysis that helps the field make data-driven decisions.

Summer Intern Project Assignment:

• Review FP&A Finance Team dashboards to implement uniform visualization standards
• Learn the PFG data environment in Snowflake in order to overhaul and enhance existing Power BI dashboards
• Support the team with ad-hoc analysis in Excel, Power BI, and R/Python
• Explore how AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot) can improve team workflows and enhance analytic capabilities of PFG

Intern will gain:

• Hands-on experience with:

• Data cleaning, wrangling & visualization expertise
• Apply analytics and AI in a business context
• Experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in a corporate environment.

• Major(s): Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
