Performance Food Group is seeking an Accounting/Finance Intern to join its Accounting and Finance teams. You’ll be welcomed as a full contributor and participate in multiple roles to gain broad-based learning experience while collaborating with senior staff.

The internship provides exposure to Revenue Management and General Ledger tasks, monthly forecasting, journal entries, and financial statement reviews, with emphasis on accuracy, professionalism, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Accounting or Finance degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• College junior with expected graduation May 2028 or earlier.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Pass a post-offer background and drug test.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Gains broad-based learning in Accounting/Finance within PFG.
• Participates in Revenue Management and FP&A tasks.
• Analyzes customer profitability and drives KPI insights.
• Participates in monthly forecasting and divisional close.
• Assists with journal entries and reconciliations.

Job Description:

The Accounting/Finance Intern will be a member of PFG's Accounting and Finance departments. As a PFG Accounting/Finance Intern you'll be welcomed as a full contributor - a true part of the team. You'll participate in multiple roles to gain broad-based learning experience and collaborate with some of the best in the business.

Interns will gain a basic understanding of the department to which they are assigned and understand how that department impacts the overall business. A variety of tasks will be completed to facilitate the achievement of those goals.

Revenue Management/Financial Planning & Analysis Tasks

• Understanding of internal business intelligence tool
• Understanding of customer profitability & opportunities to influence
• Understanding Performance Food Groups financial statements
• Participate on weekly Revenue Management calls
• Create KPI materials, identify drivers of divisional margin performance
• Participate in monthly forecasting process
• Perform customer profitability analysis
• Participate in divisional fiscal period financial statement review

General Ledger Accounting Tasks

• Understanding of account reconciliation & journal entry creation
• Understanding of G/L software & effective navigation
• Understanding of monthly tax filings
• Participate in month end close process
• Prepare and upload manual journal entries

Qualifications

• College Junior graduating in May of 2028 or before
• High School diploma, working towards Accounting or Finance degree with required minimum G.P.A. of 3.0
