Job summary

Salvation Army Corp in Raleigh, NC is seeking a finance leader to direct the Area Command's accounting and financial operations. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance across governmental/non-profit standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years in finance with non-profit/governmental experience, and supervisory credentials. Valid license and professional certifications are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Five years’ of experience responsible for financial and accounting duties, with prior experience in governmental and/or non-profit accounting, and five years supervisory experience.
• Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License and one or more financial certifications (or ability to obtain within a timeframe)

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and supervises the work of assigned staff; trains employees on procedures and methods; monitors work for accuracy and quality.
• Oversees reconciliation of Area Command bank accounts to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Manages financial operations, including preparation and oversight of financial reports that summarize income, expenses, and overall financial performance for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyzes and interprets financial data to evaluate operating results, monitor budget performance, and assess fiscal health and operational effectiveness.
• Provides guidance and support to Area Commanders and Department Directors in budgeting and posting of income and expenses.
• Assists with and oversees accounting and financial functions, including account reconciliations, grant billing, financial reporting, and other duties for efficient Finance Department operation.
