Job summary

The Salvation Army in Raleigh, NC is seeking a full-time Finance Director to lead the Area Command's finance department. You will oversee accounting, budgeting, reporting, and internal controls while ensuring compliance with nonprofit standards.

Responsibilities include directing staff, managing bank reconciliations, and preparing financial forecasts for stakeholders. A Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and five years of supervisory experience are required, with professional certifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Five years’ experience in financial and accounting duties, with nonprofit/governmental experience preferred.
• Five years of supervisory experience or equivalent leadership experience.
• Certifications and/or ability to obtain them within a defined timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the finance department within the Area Command.
• Oversee banking transactions, accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgeting.
• Produce financial reports and forecasts for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze financial data to evaluate performance and guide strategic decisions.
• Provide guidance on departmental budgets and proper income/expense allocations.
• Assist with grant billing, reconciliations, and other finance tasks.
